Indian Sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in India and abroad. Indian Sandalwood is very sacred in the Hindu Ayurveda and is known in Sanskrit as Chandana and is used in many Eastern Philosophies. It is used throughout the world in spiritual practices, meditation for its grounding properties and as a pleasant incense that warms the home and soul.
Sadly, Indian Sandalwood has been over harvested throughout the years. The Indian government highly regulates its harvest now and it is considered rare and on the endangered species list in many regions. That is why we source our Indian sandalwood responsibly from a sustainable source. All of our individual sticks are stamped and certified "Pure Mysore Sandalwood" from our cooperating sustainable source.
We are selling our larger than normal Sandalwood sticks individually by the weight of each stick. Our wood is exceptionally pure and of the highest grade and quality as with all of our products. Sandalwood sticks retain there fragrant for a very longtime, years in most cases.
Use a match or lighter to ignite the end of your Sandalwood stick. Hold at about a 45 degree angle, pointing the tip down toward the flame until it slightly lights on fire. After several seconds, blow the flame out and the stick will smolder, filling whatever space you desire with the sacred smoke of Sandalwood. Be sure to place in a fireproof container when using and always use caution with fire. Do not allow children to play with lit sticks.
