DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Our Eastern Red Cedar, which is also known as Eastern Juniper is sustainably wild harvested with no harm to living trees. This highly aromatic wood has ancient roots in North America. Native Americans had many uses for this wood from building structures resistant to pests and rot to making sacred ceremonial poles from red cedar to smoldering the wood in sacred rituals and ceremonies. Native Americans believe that the smoke from cedar wood expels evil spirits and negative energies from an area. Some first nations people still use this red cedar in this way today. 

Red Cedar is great for relaxing at night, meditation or grounding practices. Also used in spiritual practices and ritual arts. 

Burning instructions:

Use a match or lighter to ignite the end of your Red Cedar stick. Hold at about a 45 degree angle, pointing the tip down toward the flame until it slightly lights on fire.  After several seconds, blow the flame out and the stick will smolder, filling whatever space you desire with the sacred smoke of  Red Cedar. Be sure to place in a fireproof container when using and always use caution with fire. Do not allow children to play with lit sticks.

**Note: Stick are sold as whole sticks about 5-6" long. They can be split for easier lighting and to extend the supply of the wood. If you need the sticks split for you please email us and we can accommodate you, small fee may apply.
